Connecticut Investigation Into Cigna Results in $77 Million Settlement

An investigation by the Connecticut Insurance Commission into CIGNA's disability claims handling process found that the company was wrongfully denying or terminating disability benefits to policyholders. As a result, CIGNA was required to set aside $77 million for the reevaluation of denied claims.
