Dog Bite Payouts on the Rise

Insurance companies payed out an estimated $479 million in 2011 on dog bite claims. This represents  an increase of nearly 16 percent over the previous year. Insurers are unsure of the reason for the spike, but maybe more people should consider putting Fido on a leash.
